At this years Grand Designs Live London, Electrolux will present four of its appliances of the future. Their 2010 competition focused on creative solutions for compact living and asked industrial design students to consider how people will prepare and store food, wash clothes, and do dishes in the homes of 2050, when 74% of the global population are predicted to live in an urban environment.

For the first time in 10 years the famous Eden Project was forced to close due to a disastrous flood leaving their restaurants under 3 foot of water and rendering a huge amount of catering equipment useless.
