Teka expands Expression kitchen product family with new ovens, hobs, sinks and taps

The resurgence of open plan living has led to a dramatic change in the design of kitchen appliances. No longer a room shut off from the rest of the home, the kitchen has been opened out to become an integral part of the living space. Appliances must now blend almost seamlesly into walls and worktops, often sharing space with other household technology such as integrated flat screen televisions and entertainment centres. In addition to their primary function today’s appliances need to be pleasing to the eye, easy to clean and energy efficient.

The Teka Expression product range was designed and developed to ensure that all appliances in the range harmonise and work together as a family. Design details are used across the range to bring a uniformity and consistancy to the family, appliances compliment each other, helping to give the kitchen area a feeling of calm and serenity. The success of the range has led to Teka expanding the family.

In addition to the existing oven range, a further four ovens have been launched, including the combo oven with two different sized oven cavities. Completely new to Expression in the UK are six induction hobs. Two of these hobs will feature the Slider Touch control, just the glide of a fingertip increases or decreases the individual cooking zone’s temperature. Additional gas on black glass hobs are being introduced along with new ceramic hobs.

Teka also unveils the Expression sinks and taps. Even that most functional of kitchen products, the kitchen sink, must be created to look elegant, be robust and stand proudly alongside all other appliances in the Expression collection. From the distinctive X and dots on the drainers, to the clean linear lines of the taps with their matching dots on the handles, the Expression sinks and taps are worthy of their place in the Expression family.

The extent of the research and development invested in the collection is evident in the ergonomics, the technology and the appearance. Designed as a family of appliances, to lend the kitchen area a clean, spacious, harmonious look, with all products in the range blending together, whichever combination is chosen.
