Rayburn drops the price of its A-rated Rayburn 480CD gas central heating range cooker
(22/01/2010)
Up to 125,000 households in England with working G-rated boilers can apply through the Energy Saving Trust for a voucher which will entitle them to £400 off the price of a new, modern A-rated boiler or a renewable heating system like a biomass boiler or a heat pump.
Rayburn has announced it is matching the Government’s contribution for the the new boiler scrappage scheme by dropping the price of its A-rated ultra-efficient Rayburn 480CD gas central heating range cooker by £400 – so everyone can benefit from the discount. So, if they’re taking part in the scrappage scheme they get a total £800 discount. Plus, Rayburn is absorbing the increase in VAT on all of its products until the end of March 2010.
The Rayburn 480 CD, made by AGA, is the only range cooker available with a built in A-rated gas condensing boiler which gives householders all the benefits of a cast-iron range cooker as well as a powerful central heating and DHW boiler. The boiler was awarded its top rating after fully independent testing showed it to be over 90% efficient – making it perfect for cooking and perfect for a warm house and hot showers.
At its heart are twin independent Ecoflam pre-mix gas burners, controlled by a central PCB unit which also provides the necessary temperature regulation. Additionally, the 480CD’s electronic ignition eliminates the need for permanent pilot lights, resulting in even greater energy efficiency. The 480CD is a balanced flue, room-sealed appliance and is suitable for positioning against an outside wall and the twin flue terminals have been designed to create minimum aesthetic impact.
All user controls and access for servicing are located at the front of the Rayburn, allowing the cooker to be slot-fitted into standard kitchen units and worktops. Unlike previous generations of range cookers, the 480CD requires no additional plinth to stand on, as its working surface height is 910mm to match most modern kitchen units. The Rayburn 480CD is available in a selection of seven vitreous enamel colours.
David Carpenter, AGA’s Technical Director, said: “The boiler scrappage scheme is a great way to encourage people to look at fossil fuel use in their homes – after all 27% of carbon emissions in the UK comes from housing. At Rayburn, we’re completely focused on creating both beautiful and energy efficient appliances, and that’s why we’re pleased to be able to support this initiative by offering a further £400 off the Rayburn 480CD. There’s really never been a better time to invest in a Rayburn.”
Rayburn is part of the AGA Rangemaster Group.
